FIELD: check methods for nondestructive water-tight hydraulic and irrigation object protection, particularly for sealings or joints thereof.
SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring water losses caused by water leakage through control joints after control joint forming at regular time intervals during natural structure usage for up to 10 years; determining universal control joint reliability and durability factor, namely leakage coefficient; determining time-dependent control joint leakage coefficient change in the case of control joint operation in real natural conditions; calculating water-retention structure control joint fluid-tightness resource.
EFFECT: possibility to predict duration of control joint fluid-tightness in the case of hydraulic stricture operation in natural conditions, where control joints are subjected to complex environmental and man-caused factor action (ultra-violet radiation, water, cyclic freezing and thawing, non-uniform base deformations and so on).
