FIELD: engineering mechanical; diesel engines.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fuel systems of diesel engines operating on liquefied dimethyl ester and diesel fuel. Proposed fuel system of diesel engine contains circuit for operation on dimethyl ester including service tank, feed pump, high-pressure pump connected to nozzles of diesel engine, line to direct ester from high-pressure pump into tank, circuit for operation of diesel fuel including service tank, feed pump, line to direct diesel fuel from high-pressure pump into tank, additional feed pump providing operation of diesel engine both on ester and on diesel fuel, shutoff members providing delivery of ester and diesel fuel to additional feed pump and removal of ester and diesel fuel from high pressure pump. System contains also additional main line connected to diesel fuel service tank and to lines directing diesel fuel to tank, disconnectable low-pressure pump installed before high-pressure pump, and line connecting additional main line with low-pressure pump. Shutoff members are installed after ester and diesel fuel feed pumps and are made in form of manually controlled valves, similar valves being installed also on lines removing ester and diesel fuel from high-pressure pump, two restrictors are installed in parallel on main line directing diesel fuel into tank, and shutoff members to supply ester and diesel fuel to additional pump and remove ester and diesel fuel from high-pressure pump are made in form of two-position valve.

EFFECT: improved efficiency and reliability.
