FIELD: medicine, neurology.
SUBSTANCE: in atherosclerotic plaque it is necessary to detect the following components - atheromatous masses, the sites of sclerosis, the foci of calcinosis, lipophages, thrombus upon its surface and the following process - haemorrhage, ulceration of atherosclerotic plaque's tegmentum with atheromatous masses, the foci of necrosis and edema, newly developed vessels and plasmorrhagia, thinning of atherosclerotic plaque's tegmentum with atheromatous masses, the content of atherosclerotic plaque as atheromatous masses and/or lipophages at its surface. At prevailing atheromatous masses and lipophages in atherosclerotic plaque being above the sites of sclerosis or the parts of sclerosis or the sites of sclerosis and the foci of calcinosis along with thinning the tegmentum and/or at ulceration of atherosclerotic plaque's tegmentum with atheromatous masses and/or at the presence of the content of atherosclerotic plaque as atheromatous masses and/or lipophages at its surface one should point out the cause of ischemic lesion of cerebral circulation in atheroembolism in the branches of internal carotid artery. In case of a thrombus at the surface of atherosclerotic plaque the cause of ischemic lesion of cerebral circulation is considered to be thromboembolism in the branches of internal carotid artery. At prevailing atheromatous masses and lipophages in atherosclerotic plaque being above the parts of sclerosis or the parts of sclerosis and the foci of calcinosis and/or the presence of the foci of necrosis or edema in atherosclerotic plaque and/or at detecting newly developed vessels in atherosclerotic plaque and associated hemorrhage and/or plasmorrhagia one should consider the cause of ischemic lesion of cerebral circulation to be the increased volume of atherosclerotic plaque and degree of stenosis in the sinus of internal carotid artery.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of detection.
