METHOD FOR EXCISING ABDOMINAL AORTA ANEURYSM Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A61B17/00 A61F2/06 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: method involves arresting blood circulation in the abdominal aorta and in both common iliac arteries with aneurysm sack being disconnected by cross-clamping aorta above and below the aneurysm with two clamps. Then it is cut-off below the lower clamp without removing the clamp, and hemostatic U-shaped sutures are placed below the lower clamp above the aneurysm sack along the whole perimeter on part remaining after bone excision. In-pierce is done above the clamp on the posterior aorta wall intima side, and out-pierce is done under the clamp 0.5-1 cm below. The lower clamp is removed from the upper aneurysm sack part without opening it in longitudinal direction. To restore blood circulation in pelvic arteries and lower extremities, abdominal aorta prosthetics is carried out with blood vessel bifurcation prosthesis applying proximal end-to-end anastomosis and end-to-side distal anastomoses with both common iliac arteries. Then, vascular prosthesis is placed on external aneurysm sack surface. The vascular prosthesis is placed in particular cases on lateral (left) side of the aneurysm sack.

EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in carrying out sparing surgical intervention; accelerated operation; reduced patient hemorrhage.
