METHOD FOR APPLYING VASCULAR PROSTHESIS OF ABDOMINAL AORTA MADE OF POLYTETRAFLUOROETHYLENE SUPPLIED WITH METAL HOOKED STENT Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, vascular surgery. SUBSTANCE: one should squeeze aorta above aneurysm. Iliac arteries are squeezed, too. Anterior wall of aneurysm is lanced. Vascular diameter is detected along with disposition of stented section of prosthesis due to successive introduction of polytetrafluoroethylene rings of different diameter into aortal lumen on Foley catheter. Purse-string suture is applied onto vascular wall in the site of supposed proximal anastomosis. One should introduce vascular polytetrafluoroethylene prosthesis supplied with metal hooked stent, on Foley catheter into aortal lumen. Prosthesis should be fixed with hooks inside the vessel. Purse-string suture is tightened. prosthesis is covered with walls of aneurysmatic sac. The suggested method enables to simplify and increase reliability of fixation.
