SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for prognosis of accumulation of lead in barley. Prognosis is carried out by determination of the content of mobile lead in soil by extraction of lead with acetate-ammonium buffer, pH = 4.8, followed by calculation of lead accumulation in barley grains and straw by the following formulas: Rz = 0.371 + 0.0034Rp, R = 0.99; Rs = 0.63 + 0.0196Rp, R = 0.96 wherein Rz means the content of lead in barley grains at humidity 14%, mg/kg; Rs means the content of lead in barley straw at humidity 16%, mg/kg; Rp means the content of mobile lead in soil from 0.7 to 75 mg/kg; R means a correlation coefficient. Invention allows carrying out the prognosis of lead accumulation in barley based on data for the content of mobile lead in top soil layer.
