FIELD: machine engineering, namely quick-action clamps used as clamping attachment for metal cutting machine tools.
SUBSTANCE: quick-action clamp includes base; fixed jaw mounted on base and movable jaw mounted on base with possibility of motion on guides. Screw is mounted in fixed jaw. Main sleeve is joined by means of left-hand threaded joint with small pitch along internal surface with fixed screw and it is imparted to rotation from handle. Outer surface of main sleeve is joined by means of threaded joint (right-hand thread with large pitch) with additional sleeve made in the form of spring-loaded cam-type coupling half and arranged in housing movable jaw. Reciprocal cam-type coupling half is secured to body of movable jaw. Spring provides cam engagement until clamping effort exceeds rigidity of spring.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of clamping.
