FIELD: thermo-mechanical treatment of hardened blanks for barrels of hunting guns, hollow and solid shafts, axles, and heavily-loaded parts of machines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes heating of blank to austenization temperature followed by deformation of blank with the aid of deformation rollers at temperature equal to 0.90-0.95 of heating temperature and change of angle of feed of deformation rollers in accordance with change in blank diameter; then blank is cooled down to tempering temperature. Sections of blank having different diameters are cooled at changed flow rate of cooling fluid in accordance with diameter of section being cooled. Device proposed for realization of this method includes induction heater, deformation unit with rollers, sprayer and hydraulic control system. Deformation unit is made in form of two independent three-roller sub-units located in one plane which is perpendicular relative to feed of blank; each sub-unit is connected with hydraulic control and with roller turning mechanism for setting the required angle of feed of rollers in accordance with change in diameter of blank. Rollers are connected with turning mechanism to ensure angle of feed of roller of from 0 to 30°.
