FIELD: proposed invention refers to passive location of signals.

SUBSTANCE: it includes conversion of input signal into Fourier's spectral representation, calculation of square of module from spectral representation of input signal, Fourier's reverse representation, raising of module of received auto correlative function in z-power and integration with following normalization of result of integration to maximum of module of auto correlative function in z-power, comparison of received result with threshold and making corresponding decision about presence of detected object.

EFFECT: small sensitiveness to forms of detected impulse signals and stabilization of probability of false alarm.
