FIELD: physics, radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used in systems of passive radio location for detection and definition of radio radiation sources coordinates. In method for detection and definition of radio radiation source coordinates, including reception of source radio radiation in at least three spatially distanced points of reception with transfer of received radio signals to central station, definition of square of module of complex mutual correlation functions and mutual delay of moments of electromagnet waves arrival into each pair of reception points, measurement of received radio signals energy value, definition of pairwise products of values of various radio signals energy, additionally squares of modules of complex autocorrelation functions are defined, as well as squares of values of received radio signals energies in each point of reception, sum of ratios is defined for squares of modules of complex mutual correlation functions to pairwise products of values of radio signals energy and ratios of squares of modules of autocorrelation functions to squares of values of energies of received radio signals in each point of reception, and by maximum of sum, by comparison to detection threshold, and by its position they define availability of radiation and coordinates of source.
EFFECT: improved probability of proper detection of radio radiation sources at the background of Gauss noises of unknown intensity.
