FIELD: construction of carriers for measuring equipment used for study of oceans.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes manufacture of carrier dummy buoys of various shapes whose size is a tenth of less as compared with full size. These dummy buoys are placed in hydrodynamic basin and hydrodynamic characteristics are studied including angular and vertical oscillations of dummy buoys under conditions of wind and hydrodynamic disturbance. On the basis of analysis of characteristics thus obtained with the use of criterion of selection of minimum magnitude of product of angular and vertical displacement divided by damping coefficient, shape of carrier buoy is selected which corresponds to design assignment of buoys station.
EFFECT: reduction of time required for selection of carrier buoy shape.
