FIELD: armament equipment, in particular, guided missiles of air-based anti-tank missile complexes.
SUBSTANCE: the method consists in missile launching with the aid of the booster engine from the transport-launching container located on the air carrier launcher. On termination of the booster engine operation the zero stage of the missile is separated, the ballistic flight of the zero stage and the controllable flight of the sustainer stage are accomplished, the missile control is carried out from the moment of its exit from the transport-launching container. The zero stage is used in the form of an aerodynamic stable finned body of revolution. The zero stage is separated after the missile has attained the flight speed corresponding to the Mach number within 3.0 to 4.5. Before the missile is launched the transport launching container is turned through an angle at which all possible trajectories of the separated zero stage pass below the carrier flight altitude.
EFFECT: prevented collision of the air carrier with the separated zero stage.
