FIELD: drilling and blasting operations, applicable in various branches using blasting operations in hard rock masses.
SUBSTANCE: the method for formation of air gaps for separation of the explosive charge into parts consists in making of air gaps of foam plastic. Pieces of foam plastic of different configuration with the maximum length of the side equal to 0.65 to 0.71 of the blast hole diameter is lowered in the blast hole up to the filling of the air gap to the estimated height. The packing bulk of the explosive in a soft or elastic envelope with a diameter excluding the blast hole diameter is placed on the upper piece of foam plastic.
EFFECT: accelerated formation of the air gap in the explosive charge irrespective of the weather conditions, reduced expenditures on the process due to the use of a cheap scrap of salvaged foam plastic.
