FIELD: drilling and blasting operations, applicable in various branches using blasting operations in hard rock masses.
SUBSTANCE: the method consists in separation of the explosive charge into parts by an air gap of foam polystyrene. The air gap of the rated height is formed by sinking of an element of foam plastic into the borehole, the element is made in the form of a rod, whose length equals the length of the air gap of square or round cross-section with an area of not more than 0.85 of the cross-section area of the borehole. The remaining gap between the element and the borehole walls is filled by foamed polystyrene.
EFFECT: simplified formation of the air gap in the charge of flowing explosives due to the use of foam polystyrene elements.
