SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an agent used in treatment of viral hepatitis C. Agent comprises one or a mixture of some o-phthalic acid esters of normal structure or isostructure of the general formula (I): 
wherein n = 2-10. The claimed invention provides rapid, effective and safety removing clinical symptoms of viral hepatitis C, and provides also elimination of hepatitis C virus, and allows obtaining the resistance virology response without any adverse effects and in the absence of contraindications. The effectiveness of invention is confirmed in clinical investigation.
