FIELD: industrial organic synthesis.
SUBSTANCE: 1,2-dichloroethane is introduced at pressure 3.6 MPa into convection zone 3 of cracking furnace 1 wherein it is heated to 230°C and then passed to evaporator 4. Heating of 1,2-dichloroethane in cracking furnace to at least 450°C is effected for 15 to 30 sec. Cracking furnace obtains energy from combustion of heating gas distributed at three tiers in the form of a series of burners wherein each tier may contains one or more burners. The first tier represents a row of burners at 1,2-dichloroethane entry and provides 30 to 70% energy, the second tier represents rows of burner in the middle part and provides 20 to 40% energy, and the third tier represents a row of burners at cracking gas outlet and provides 10 to 20% energy.
EFFECT: increased economical efficiency of vinyl chloride production.
