FIELD: battery safety components and batteries provided with such component.
SUBSTANCE: proposed battery safety device is provided with material having metal-to-insulator junction characteristic when resistance abruptly drops at definite temperature or at that higher than definite temperature. Battery incorporating metal-to-insulator safety component is transferred to steady discharged state in case it has been subjected to enhanced temperature or in case its temperature rises due to external impacts.
EFFECT: enhanced battery safety due to reduced degree of charge.
