SUBSTANCE: method and system are claimed for exchanging short messages with portable client numbers between several telecommunication networks, where client numbers do not provide for unambiguous matching of client with an individual telecommunication network, and during delivery of short messages usually several attempts of delivery must be made. In accordance to the invention, all parameters or data or part of them which are related to first attempt of delivery of parameters or data, in particular, addressee information, are stored preferably in SMSC, respectively, in SMS-GMSC, and used at least partially during following additional delivery attempts.
EFFECT: accelerated routing during repeated delivery attempts, excluded unneeded routing requests.
