FIELD: medicine, traumatology and orthopaedics.
SUBSTANCE: excision of osteochondromatosis is performed. Level of osteotomy of the fifth metatarsal bone is identified by use of X-ray foot imaging.
EFFECT: allows control of absence of stable fixation at transversal osteotomy level by means of rotary movement of distal area of extremity Amending osteotomy is performed Dissected segment of the fifth metatarsal bone is fixed mechanically with two screws inserted in parallel to each other First, spongy screw is inserted into distal segment of the fifth metatarsal bone and diaphysis of the forth metatarsal bone Then, cortical screw is inserted via diaphysis of the fifth metatarsal bone into diaphysis of the forth metatarsal bone, proximally from spongy screw.
EFFECT: provides stable fixation of achieved bone amendment and eliminates postoperational complications and reduces treatment time
