FIELD: electronics.
SUBSTANCE: thyristor capacitor converter is designed as thyristor bridge and current sensor in alternating current diagonal, and sequenced through direct current diagonal to active inductive load. Distinctive feature is that auxiliary thyristor half-bridge is parallel to thyristor bridge, and auxiliary capacitor and current sensor are sequenced to formed auxiliary alternative current diagonal. Value of auxiliary capacitor is one order lower that value of main capacitor.
EFFECT: control by means pulse-length modulation within wide load range without additional loss characteristic for similar well-known converters.
