FIELD: means of transport.

SUBSTANCE: stringed transportation system includes at least one rail pulled above foundation in span between anchor supports. This rail is represented as a strain member enclosed into housing with running surface for self-moving rolling units. Stringed transportation system also includes transition sections resting upon anchor supports and joined with suspended runways in the span between supports. Rail in the span between anchor supports is provided with deflection f forming inclination i on runways before anchor supports being within the limits 1 : 250 < i < 1 : 1, at deflection ratio f to span length L which is within the limits: 0.001 < f/L < 0.25. Transition section on anchor support has the same inclination i as joined suspended section of runways in the span between supports. Methods of stringed transportation system build-up includes installation of anchor supports on foundation, suspension of at least one strain member between them in the form of multilayer package of load-bearing elements such as wire, belts, straps, ropes or strands and further layered tensioning and fastening of each element ends at anchor supports. Pre-tensioned member is further enclosed into rail housing and fixed inside. Strain member elements located in different layers are pulled with different tensile stresses. Each next layer located under the previously tensioned upper layer is pulled to the stress σs, satisfying the ratio: 0.8 < σsu < 0.999, where: σu - tensile stress in load-bearing elements of the previous upper layer, Pa; σs - tensile stress of load-bearing elements in the following layer with regard to the previous upper layer of elements package, Pa.

EFFECT: decrease of material consumption, construction cost and improvement of stringed transportation system operation with preserved system reliability.
