FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes snow sampling and detection of actual chemical elements ingress onto specified area of snow cover per time unit. Actual ingress of chemical elements is detected as compositing water-soluble chemical compounds going onto snow cover from ambient air. After that index of actual contamination density is calculated based on relation of actual chemical elements ingress to actual maximum permissible ingress causing increase of chemical elements content per 1 kg of snow covering 1 m2, per 1 MPC.
EFFECT: comparable results concerning snow cover contamination in different regions are obtained.
