FIELD: chemistry; construction materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to the industry of construction materials and can be used for making materials, products and structures using waste products from the production of ferrosilicon-microsilica. The method of determining content of graphite and silicon carbide involves treatment of microsilica samples with acid, and then with a alkali, washing with distillated water, filtering, drying and cooling with subsequent weighing, baking, cooling and weighing. The acid used is fluorhydric acid HF with concentration of 45-50%, and the alkali used is 0.1 n NaOH. Drying the samples is corried out at 105-110°C in a drying cabinet until a constant mass is attained. Weighing is carried out using analytic balances. The samples are baked in a muffle furnace at temperature of 1000±20°C for a period of 30-40 minutes. The ratio of the microsilica (g) to the fluorhydric acid (ml) is 1:50.

EFFECT: simplification of the method of determining the content of components; simultaneous determination of the content of microsilica, silicone carbide and graphite.
