SUBSTANCE: device contains a force-measuring unit, its attachment to fixed parts of the vehicle and to the jet engine, and a device directing and compensating for the thermal expansion of the jet engine. The latter said device is equipped with at least two open box-shaped guides installed, as the engine, on fixed parts of the vehicle; in parallel or close to the parallel position relative to its datum line, construction line, or the calculated line of jet engine thrust. At least in two guides four slide blocks may be placed in pairs in the same plane. In three parallel guides, three slide blocks providing plane-parallel displacement of the jet engine may be placed. The method involves the installation of the jet engine to the vehicle, the preparation of the standard force-measuring unit for the measurement of the thrust of the jet engine and the device directing and compensating for the thermal expansion of the jet engine. The vehicle is installed so that its construction line would be horizontal and the jet engine is installed in straight box-shaped guides. The jet engine thrust characteristic is measured using a reference external force-measuring unit and its readings are compared to the readings of the standard force-measuring unit for the jet engine thrust measurement; if required, the characteristic of the standard force-measuring unit is changed and the guides are adjusted.

EFFECT: simplification of device design and increase in thrust measurement accuracy.
