FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio and microwave equipment and may be used for the adaptation of microwave transmission lines with simultaneous oscillation and mode selection. Between the adapted microwave transmission lines with different impedance values, an adaptation transforming section is introduced, in the form of a quarter-wave section of a periodic irregular slow-down structure with the same cross-section shape as the lines being adapted. The section of the periodic irregular slow-down structure should have the number of periods not less than four, linearly varying cross-section dimension value, the maximum dimension of which is equal to one fourth of the slowed wavelength, and an impedance equal to the root-mean-square value of impedances of the adapted lines.
EFFECT: microwave line adaptation with exact holding of cut-off frequency and absence of high bandwidths.
