FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: from a solution with a different concentration of sodium chloride, iodine is extracted using a solution of tributyl phosphate in kerosene. For solutions with concentration of sodium chloride of 0.5 mol/l, a 20% solution of tributyl phosphate in kerosene is used. For solutions with concentration of sodium chloride of 1.0 mol/l, a 10% solution of tributyl phosphate in kerosene is used. For solutions with concentration of sodium chloride of 2.0-5.0 mol/l, a 30% solution of tributyl phosphate in kerosene is used.
EFFECT: effective extraction of iodine with minimum loss of the extraction agent.
