FIELD: physics; measurements.
SUBSTANCE: invention pertains to devices for orientation and navigation. The essence of the invention lies in that, the device consists of a magnetic needle, installed with provision for rotation, a turning limb with a zero mark on it, a case with a scale named Mecca, the position of which corresponds to its geographic coordinates allowance for magnetic declination, a sensor for the angle of rotation of the magnetic needle, consisting of two sensitive elements, a direction indicator based on LEDs and an electrical power source. The centre of the turning limb coincides with the point of fixing the magnetic needle. The sensitive elements of the sensor of the angle of rotation are rigidly fixed to the turning limb and are on its surface at opposite ends of the section of the straight line, running through the centre of the limb. The length of the needle is not less than the distance between the centres of the sensitive elements and not more than the distance between the outermost edges of the sensitive elements. The LED indicators are on the surface of the case of the device on both sides of the limb on a straight line, which is a continuation of the diameter of the limb and coinciding with the axis of symmetry of the case. The indicators are made with provision for operation when the ends of the magnetic needle are superposed with the sensitive elements.
