FIELD: medicine; ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: after pterigium head and body are dissected, sclera vessels are cauterised within dissected pterigium area. Conjunctiva defect is replaced with biomaterial "Alloplant" for conjunctiva plastics, cornea defect is left unplaced regardless disease severity. Besides, due to unapplied cornea defect replacement, positive cosmetic effect is achieved without any specific complications and disease relapse, ad minimal biomaterial consumption. Cornea epithelisation including pterigiums of 4-5 degress, in the judgement of authors, is provided owing to proper limb stem cells, probably under effect of biometarial "Alloplant" used for conjunctiva plastics.
EFFECT: reduced risk of disease relapse is provided due to complete dissection of pterigium, episclera vessel cauterisation and conjunctiva defect replacement with specified biomaterial.
