FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanisms converting reciprocating motion into rotary one and vice verse and can be used in piston engines, piston compressors and pumps. The converter consists of, at least, two equal-radius cranks. The ledge of one crank fitted on the converter shaft makes an axle of rotation of the second crank with its ledge pivoted to the slider. The said converter incorporates additionally a controlled locking device that, when activated, locks the reciprocating motion allowing the shaft to run.
EFFECT: conversion or variation of the parts motion direction allowing the shaft rotation.
