FIELD: instrument engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrument engineering and can be applied in analytical laboratories when mineral motor oil pour-point temperature is determined for automotive engineering. The essence of invention is that analytical curve is built to show pour-point temperature dependence from the known concentration of pour-point depressant "ПМА "Д". Minimum allowable freezing temperature value for mineral motor oil base is assigned and concentration of pour-point depressant "ПМА "Д" is defined based on calculating formula and using difference of optical densities in the analyzed oil samples in absorption bands 1731 cm-1 (experimental data for depressant "ПМА "Д") and 2000 sm-1. Then, pour-point temperature is found against analytical curve and obtained temperature value is added to the given minimum allowable pour point temperature value of analysed mineral motor oil. The outcome is accepted as pour point temperature value of analysed mineral motor oil.

EFFECT: reduction of analysis time due to skipping of cooling and preliminary preparation of sample.
