FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves collecting a sample, spectrophotometry, measuring optical density at defined wavelengths and calculating concentration of the additive in oil using a mathematical relationship. Before filling an absorption cell, its thickness is measured and presence of free water in the sample is further determined and if no free water is present, the value of optical density at absorption bands of either 1420.88 cm-1 or 3239.60 cm-1 is measured, taking either 1437.67 cm-1 or 3380.95 cm-1 as the base absorption band, respectively, and is water is present in the sample, the value of optical density is measured only at the absorption band 1420.88 cm-1, taking 1437.67 cm-1 as the base absorption band.
EFFECT: rapidness, high accuracy, wider range of determined additives for aviation oil.
