FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: sensitive elements fitted concentrically on the bearing rings and furnished with resistance strain gauge are used. A test load is formed by working fluid pressure between the mated surfaces of the rings and axle journal. To feed working fluid from the end face of the bearing every ring, a high-pressure chamber is used arranged just between the said rings and concentrically on them. Tension stresses originated in the bearing ring expansion caused by the working fluid pressure are measured on the sensitive element outer surfaces. Contact pressure and durability of the ring press-fit on the axle journal is calculated from known relations of the theory of elasticity. The high-pressure chamber is a bush with inner space isolated by O-rings, the said inner space overlapping a contact area of end face surfaces of two rings press-fitted on the journal. The chamber inner space communicates with the working fluid pressure source and is furnished with a check valve to keep up the hydraulic medium test pressure.
EFFECT: higher reliability and longer life.
