FIELD: measuring.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-destructive testing of assemblies, parts and materials and can be used to check strength of fixed detachable joints with interference of inner rings of axle box bearings on journals of axles of wheel pairs. Method consists in the fact that a sensitive element is placed on the surface of the contacting bodies, the load is applied, the stress-strain state is measured and the strength of the fit is determined from the level of the stress-strain state of the sensitive element. Load used is a local thermal effect by a heater with a temperature of at least 200 °C, which is located at a distance of at least 1/8 of the circumference of the ring from the sensitive element. Temperature of the sensitive element is measured, the time after which the sensitive element begins to heat up is recorded, and relative deformations during this time are recorded, while fixing the time for achieving maximum relative deformations, and the strength of the fit of the press joint is determined by formula.
