IMPROVED ALBUMEN SKIMMER Russian patent published in 2008 - IPC A01K63/04

Abstract RU 2329644 C2

FIELD: agriculture, fish breeding.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns an albumen skimmer designed for use in water treatment for breeding of fish and other aquatic organisms in a tank, an aquarium or pool. Albumen skimmer comprises circulation system of one or more discharge pipes leading from a tank to water circulation pump, and a reverse pipe for returning water directly or indirectly from the pump into the tank. The reverse pipe includes basically horizontal straight section with at least one side jet directed upwards, with an outlet in the air. Straight horizontal section is designed for fast streaming the water past the side jet and upholding water level at the height of joining point of the side jet with the straight section or higher. The side jet is directed back against the water stream in the straight section and forms first angle (v) varying from 0° to about 90° with it. When water runs, albumen foam is forming on the water surface where the straight section crosses the side jet, so that the albumen foam can raise above water level and be let out through the side jet. Totally or partially treated water passes further through the reverse pipe to the straight section directly or indirectly to the tank. The method involves feeding polluted or partially treated water to the reverse pipe, which leads to the tank. At that, the reverse pipe includes a basically horizontal straight section and one or more side jets directed upwards, each having an outlet in the air. Fast streaming of the water past the side jet and upholding water level at the height of joining point of the side jet with the straight section or higher are maintained. At that, the side jet is directed back against the water stream in the straight section and forms first angle (v) varying from 0° to about 90° with it. When water runs, albumen foam is forming on the water surface where the straight section crosses the side jet, so that the albumen foam can raise above water level and be let out through the side jet. Passage of totally or partially treated water further through the reverse pipe to the straight section directly or indirectly to the tank is sustained.

EFFECT: enables albumen elimination from the water for fish breeding.
