FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: double-layer coating is applied. As bottom layer nitride of titanium, silicon and molybdenum is applied, which contains 2.3-2.4% of molybdenum, and as top layer same nitride is applied, which contains 4.7-4.9% of molybdenum. Three evaporators are used, which are installed in horizontal plane. Two opposite ones contain titanium and silicon, and evaporator installed between them contains titanium and molybdenum. All three cathodes are used in application of bottom layer, and in application of top layer one of cathodes that contains silicon is not used.
EFFECT: increase of cutting tool operability and quality of its processing.
