FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: as bottom layer nitride of titanium, molybdenum and silicon is applied, which contains 0.8-0.85% of silicon, and as top layer same nitride is applied, which contains 0.2-0.3% of silicon. Application of coating is implemented with three evaporators, which are installed in horizontal plane, from which two opposite ones contain titanium and molybdenum, and evaporator installed between them contains titanium and silicon. All three evaporators are used in application of top layer, and in application of bottom layer one of cathodes that contains molybdenum is not used.
EFFECT: increase of cutting tool operability and quality of its processing.
