FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: ion duct is designed for charged particle (electron or ion) beam transfer in autonomous mode. The ion duct involves quadruple hard-magnetic lenses which do not require electric power, with excellent vacuum insulation of ion duct provided by the use of getters - residual gas absorbers. Ion duct walls are made of crimped materials sustaining duct flexibility within the reasonable limits for a focusing system of quadruple hard-magnetic lenses.
EFFECT: allows autonomous operation and flexibility of ion duct at relatively small specific gravity of the whole construction, and thus enables effective transfer of charged particle beams practically at any distance at minimum expenditure.
