FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry, specifically to mass spectrometry of biological cells. Inductively coupled plasma time-of-flight mass spectrometer for analysing single biological cells labelled with isotopes of metals includes: sample introduction device for sequential generation of single biological cells; ionisation device for generating metal isotope ions from single biological cells fed through a sample input device; an atmospheric pressure interface for transporting ions under the action of a vacuum; ion guide device for receiving ions from the atmospheric pressure interface and transporting ions; ion manipulation device for receiving ions from an ion guide device and designed to perform one or more of the following operations: 1) selective filtration of ions with certain masses, 2) grouping of ions and 3) storage of ions; time-of-flight (TOF) mass analyser, designed to receive ions and separate ions with different masses such that they reach the ion detector at different moments in time, and a signal processing device designed to process the ion flow signal coming from the ion detector and generate a mass spectrum for identifying metal isotopes, wherein the ion guide device includes a first bent electrode and a second bent electrode.

EFFECT: improved functional and phenotypic identification and simultaneous quantitative multivariate analysis.
