FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: in the claimed method, a system of magnetic fields is formed, alternately they deflect the particles to the axis and from the axis of the system, thereby effecting a rigid focusing of particles, the deflection of the particles is carried out by fields of dipoles with different polarity of magnetic induction, the resultant effect of which results in the deflection of particles in only one of mutually perpendicular directions. The system rotated by 90° is used to deflect the particles in the other direction. It is possible to use homogeneous fields of dipoles. The magnetic dipole fields are formed in such a way that the particles moving along the axis of the system acquire in equal fields of equal magnitude but different angular momentum P=Fc±t (Fc - the force acting on the particle, t - the motion time in the dipole). In this case, the total momentum of the force acquired by the particle will be zero, P=0. For any particle deviated from the axis, the total angular momentum is not zero and always deflects the particle to the axis of the focusing system.

EFFECT: increasing the focus rigidity.
