FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method of changing properties of directional coupler is intended for waveguide distributing systems of phased-array antennas and UHF paths of radiolocation stations. It is based on partial transfer of UHF signal from the main to the secondary waveguide through coupling slits in the wide wall common to the main and secondary waveguides, and on reduction of frequency damping factor. At that, the directional coupler has a definite dynamic attenuation and a definite frequency damping factor at medium frequency of operational range f0. To obtain technical result resonance frequency of the directional coupler should be defined and shifted in the direction of upper frequencies with minimal change to the frequency damping factor.
EFFECT: extended range of operation frequencies with simultaneous minimising of dynamic attenuation variations at medium frequency of operation range and frequency damping factor.
