FIELD: antenna microwave engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed waveguide radiator that functions to shape two orthogonal polarized waves at a time is made in the form of square-section waveguide with wall size a = (0.6 ± 0.1)λ, where λ is wavelength in free space excited by two waveguides of which one is connected to radiating (square) waveguide through rectangular-section transformer and excites wave H10 therein, and other one is connected through narrow slit and excites wave H01 therein. Slit center is disposed at distance l = (0.25 ± 0.5)λw from connection plane of transformer to square waveguide, where λw is wavelength in this waveguide, and large axis of slit is oriented along center line of radiating waveguide wall parallel to wide wall of transformer. Installed in transformer connection plane are N parallel metal pins which are also parallel to wide walls of transformer and contact opposing narrow walls, where N > 1.
EFFECT: improved electrical, design, and technical characteristics, reduced size and mass of device.
