FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used for cutting of bulky steel solids, such as emergency scrap with thickness of up to 2 m and more, technological waste of steel-smelting and casting works. After creation of initial hearth of liquid melting and burning, working part of lance is cooled down to minimum possible speed of its burning, by means of highly-energetic lance jet supply with increased values of oxygen mass transfer and by means of installation of lance working part end with gap in respect of metal surface. Intensification of cutting process is achieved at the account of fuller and more intense burning of cut metal, which occurs as a result of intracavitary turbulence of highly-energetic lance jet of oxygen. Initial hearth of liquid melting and burning is created by instantaneous effect of electric arc, which is excited between the surface of cut metal and lance, and increase of oxygen mass transfer and creation of highly-energetic lance jet is carried out by means of higher oxygen pressure, which is supplied to the internal cavity of lance.
EFFECT: increase of metal cutting rate by means of highly-energetic oxygen jet supply into lance and reduction of steel lances consumption.
