FIELD: transportation.

SUBSTANCE: switching over the motor operating conditions is effected by a rheostat controller with its shaft is run by the Reshetov's drive by means of alternating switching in of electro pneumatic gates connected to the switching and coupling of the suburban electric multiple-unit train automatic control system (STACS). The data on the train current speed comes to the STACS central processor and display unit, via a feedback channels, from the route and speed pickups, while the current value of electric current, comes from the motion parameter recorder (MPR). Depending upon the current values of current and speed, the central processor unit makes decisions as to feasibility of generating the instruction on switching on a certain electro pneumatic gate with switching and coupling unit ready to cut in the said gate.

EFFECT: switching over the rheostat controller positions with the gradual increase in the traction motor current settings; higher motor efficiency.
