FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns the metallurgy field. Particularly it concerns methods of obtaining a continuous carbon fiber with heightened modulus of elasticity. In terms of comprehensive acrylic fiber which have titer not less than 50 tex it is prepared heavy acrylic plait which has a titer 800 or 1200 tex. After that it is heatset in isometric conditions in air atmosphere by following stepped rate: 180°C - 1 hour, 200°C - 1 hour, 220°C - 1 hour, 240°C - 4 hour till the density 1.43-1.45 g/cm3. Further it is implemented high-velocity thermomechanical treatment of received acrylic plait in isometric conditions in nitrogen medium at temperature 2200°C during approximately 10 sec rate of temperature rise 1900-2000 deg/min. Then carbonic plait is additionally treated in argon medium at temperature more than 3000°C.
EFFECT: usage of this invention allows to improve the production volume of high-modular carbon fiber at the same manufacturing capacity.
