SUBSTANCE: invention refers to paper production. Fabric for paper production used in the drying section of the papermachine has the first layer and the second layer of the weft. Lateral threads in the running direction are interwoven with the weft by double interweaving. The lateral threads are arranged in groups of at least two adjacent threads. Each group has the first lateral thread and at least one second thread. The first lateral thread is interwoven with the weft of the first and second layer and every time links only with one weft. Every second lateral thread is also intervowen with weft of the first and second layer and every time links only with one weft of the first layer but passes above at least two wefts of the second layer. The first lateral thread islocated between one or more second lateral threads in its group and the second lateral thread of the adjacent group and forms continuous airways on the fabric surface.
EFFECT: increased quality of drying fabric.
