FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: vessel stern end represents a wing or a wing panel making a pseudo extension of the vessel hull. The wing panel is rigidly coupled with the vessel hull at the point of transfer from the cylindrical girder towards stern configuration. The wing panel end shape follows that of the tow- pushboat head or that of the following vessel in the tow.
EFFECT: increased barge tonnage at the same barge sizes and lower shock-wave drag.
