FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgy, particularly to production of steel designed for armouring of vehicles. Steel contains, mass.%: carbon 0.4-0.5; silicon 0.5-0.7; manganese 0.7-1.1; chromium 1.8-2.2; nickel 3.5-5.5; molybdenum 0.4-0.6; vanadium 14.6-16.0; cobalt 0.5-1.5; aluminium 0.01-0.02; iron constitutes the remaining percentage. Steel possesses upgraded hardness characteristics and can be used for armouring of vehicles, such as money collection and military vehicles.
EFFECT: upgraded hardness of steel.
