FIELD: engines and pumps, electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: turbine plant for large-scale production of hydrogen incorporates a base structure separating the head water with great altitude from the tail water with minor altitude. The base structure makes a passage of water between the inlet bordering with the head water and the outlet bordering with the tail water. The turbine wheel is supported by the base and runs thereon, being arranged in the said water passage between the inlet and outlet so that the water flowing the passage makes the wheel run because of the pressure difference. The generator is also supported by the base and is coupled with the turbine wheel via rotary shaft to generate electric power in turbine wheel rotation. Electrolyser is electrically connected with the generator to generate electric power and to produce hydrogen. The control system can estimate the volume of remaining hydrogen to determine the turbine operating conditions, that is, producing hydrogen or electric power to be transmitted into the service circuit.
EFFECT: lower costs and higher efficiency.
