FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: nuclear power plant (NPP) comprises a steam generating plant with a nuclear power water-cooled reactor, a steam power turbogenerator plant, an additional steam turbine, a system of hydrigen and oxygen production and storage, a system of steam generating plant cooldown. Cooldown of the reactor is provided by the fact that in case of blackout the steam generated in the steam generating plant due to residual heat release in the reactor core, is reheated and supplemented in the necessary amount in the steam-hydrogen reheater by combustion of hydrogen and injection of water. Then steam is sent into an additional steam turbine, where power is produced, which is necessary for power supply of NPP auxiliaries and shutdown of the power unit in the scheduled mode.
EFFECT: possibility to cooldown a water-cooled reactor in regular mode in case of NPP blackout without usage of emergency systems.
