FIELD: electrical energy storage during reduced demand intervals. SUBSTANCE: energy storage has electrolyzer connected to supply mains through rectifier and used to decompose water into hydrogen and oxygen conveyed under pressure built up by compressors to storage facilities. They may be built under ground, under water, in permafrost layers. Pressure is maintained in storage facilities by means of water or antifreezing agent layer. Storage facilities communicate through tube with surface water reservoir or, in permafrost regions, with other reservoir filled with antifreezing agent. During peak-demand intervals, hydrogen and oxygen are supplied under pressure to gas turbine coupled with generator which produces additional power and conveys it to supply mains. EFFECT: improved design. 4 dwg
